| And so the inevitable Komari rejection arrived, although I wasn’t expecting the situation between Tamaki and Tsukinoki where she didn’t realize he even confessed but he was certain he was turned down already lol, misunderstandings will be misunderstandings I suppose. Poor Komari tho, her cry welling up sounded realistic, but I’m glad it looks like she got over it pretty quick and even managed to talk to Tamaki and Tsukinoki afterwards, she’s a little trooper. And I definitely wasn’t expecting the drama between Nukumizu and Yanami, almost felt like it didn’t need to happen, like I think Yanami may have gotten too offended by Nukumizu not liking rumors about them. However, this did lead to that great moment between Yanami and Sosuke, and then afterward with Nukumizu, I guess in order for them to truly become friends they needed their own drama lol. And unfortunate for Nukumizu, he’s been branded dumped along with the resident babes of the show because Yanami thought he was confessing and dumped him when he wasn’t even doing so, I guess you could say he lost before the race even began lol. But if you ask me, I can see these two ending up together with enough time, even if it isn’t the main focus of the series. |
| Nukumizu and Anna's chemistry is off the charts, really can't think of another time where the timid kind of socially isolated dense guy archetype has actually worked this well. The platonic angle they have juxtaposed with how much a great pair they are really does a good job at just making you look forward to when that actually progresses at all and will probably be really damn satisfying as long as they keep up their dynamic as entertainingly as they have. |

| Ugh. This episode was so frustrating. Like the whole Komari confession and everything that came along with it was... whatever, but then the whole Anna part took the cake. Like yo, they just made that whole part so dramatic. It's just so mundane. They just prettied it up. Seriously. Don't get me wrong, the way these situations are written aren't bad, it's more so it's frustrating that they're happening in the first place. You've gone to the beach together and everything and you still don't consider each other friends? No one knows who the heck you are, so why are you so worried about those rumors? Man, when someone asks if I'm going out with someone and it's not the case, I just say, "Nah. We're not going out" and move on. Yeah, I had rumors like that a few times. Who cares? Because he's so used to being a background character? Yeah, me too. I don't have my subtitle on the forums as "Mob Character C" for nothing. I understand that everyone's different, of course, but his reaction to that was just weird and it just kinda felt like they threw it in for some "unique" interpersonal drama that's supposed to feel "smart" but isn't actually that deep. In the end, there wasn't really even much of a conflict as the resolution was to formally become friends. Great. And honestly, most of that could have been solved right at the first stairs conversation. "Hey look, don't worry about the money you owe me. I don't wanna feel like you're forced you to hang with me. We can still be friends if you want to-- I mean I have a lot of fun with you" yadda-- and that almost happened, but they went this whole weird dramatic route that I can't even really say had much to offer besides emphasizing the importance of communication. That is, even if that's the take away, even the most awkward people are already more likely to cling on to the relationships they value if they genuinely enjoy them and it's mutual. We even see that with Komari. So it was just odd... especially for a dude who wants to make friends. Now if Anna actually did pull away or show signs of discomfort then sure, that would have been something I'd understand. Seeing that she was the one even initiating contact though just made me feel like it was a problem just for the sake of being a problem. The little parts in between the conflicts where the characters were interacting casually were nice though. Like how everyone was on the stairs after the fact and such. Even Komari talking to Koto and the president in the clubroom after the rejection was nice. I like Komari enough. She's stronger than she looks and even if she doesn't get what she wants, she knows what she wants, communicates that, and knows what she values. Good on her. |

| So many things that happened. Komari's confession was rejected, making her a losing heroine. I like the dark scenes where it seems that there's only natural light. The president and the other senpai actually like each other but the president's confession had a bad execution. The drama over Anna's first love. Looked like Nikumizi is about to confess. I expected that to be not of love, but I didn't expect Anna to reject him simultaneously, so my expectations were slightly subverted. This is not quite a romcom but not quite a drama either, but expecting it to be a trashy romcom is a mistake. There's a sadness in the general mood. |

| Episode 4 Discussion The humor about Anna and Nukumizu just started. Nukumizu tried to avoid Anna, and Anna noticed it. They came into an agreement to never see each other again. Then, Hakamada talked to Nukumizu out of a sudden, thinking that the rumor about them is true, saying that he supports it. Nukumizu clarified everything, then Anna came into the scene, saying things like she still likes Hakamada, and he should not care about the person that she likes. She scolded both of them, and in the end their relationships were mended. Anna and Nukumizu became officially friends, and Nukumizu being dumped without him asking her yet. (2024-08-14 23:51) |
| As far as heartbreak goes, Komari taking her rejection like an absolute champ and the sheer elegance of how the Anna-Sosuke-Nukumizu confrontation resolved was satsifying, if not bittersweet. Also, it's funny how Nukumizu gets shade thrown at him by the heroines so regularly that you can used to it and yet hearing him get slandered by gossip girls just once still feels so irritating. I'm glad he has actual friends, at least (contrary to what his sister thinks) |

No way bro got double rejected in the same episode without even confessing anything lmao Anna really is great ❤️  I like that in this show none of the main girls is in love with the main dude, nor the main dude is really in love with any of the girls, but damn, I hope this story ends with bro asking Anna out and she accepting, that's probably what's going to happen when they are in 3rd year, that would be the best ending. |

| A 10/10 episode if I've ever seen one. The dramas got resolved beautifully, and the main couple are beginning to acknowledge their own feelings toward each other. Well, at least that's what I thought. |
